Abortion Does Not Cause Cancer.

A study by the New England Journal of Medicine showed that there is no independent link between having an abortion and the appearance of breast cancer later on. This 1997 study, the largest of its kind, had 1.5 million participants and was confirmed by the 2003 National Cancer Institute symposium.

Fetuses are not conscious and do not feel pain.

In order to feel pain, or emotions stemming from pain, there must be a brain present to process information from nerve cells. Fetuses cannot feel pain, feel emotion, or do any sort of thinking because they have not developed brains capable of these tasks. We only perform abortions through the nineteenth week of pregnancy; the parts of the brain that think and feel pain begin to grow after 24 weeks and do not work fully until well into the third trimester.

Emergency Contraception Does Not Induce Abortion.

Also known as the “Morning After” pill and by various brand names, Emergency Contraception is taken after unprotected sex occurs and acts by blocking fertilization and implantation in the walls of the uterus. Basically, it stops the egg and sperm from ever becoming a fetus in the first place and is an effective way to prevent both pregnancy and abortion.

Having an abortion will not make you infertile.

There are no long-term effects from choosing to have an abortion. The safe and reliable abortions we provide will not damage your uterus or leave any scar tissue that some say will keep you from getting pregnant in the future or carrying a pregnancy to term. In fact, there will be no physical sign that you ever had an abortion afterwards. The procedure is minimally invasive, doesn't require the cutting of any tissue, and women who undergo the procedure can return to normal activities within hours after it's done. It is even possible to become pregnant again within weeks after an abortion.

Abortion is safe.

We take the utmost care to ensure that your procedure is done by expert doctors and that every step along the way complies with all the currently accepted safety standards in practice. In fact, abortion is about 10 times safer than carrying a pregnancy to term (0.6 out of 100,000 abortions end in death while 13 out of 100,000 live births result in death).

Many different kinds of women choose abortion.

More than one-third of American women will choose to have an abortion before their forty-fifth birthdays. Over thirty years of experience in this field shows that women from all walks of life, from all ethnicities, from all religious and cultural backgrounds choose abortion when they feel the choice is right for them. Every situation, like every woman, is different and that's why It's About What's Right for You.
